The new Apple Store on the corner of Broadway and West 67th Street finally has an official opening date: Saturday, November 14 at 10am. Until then, forget about sneaking a peek behind the capacious crimson curtain hiding its innards. The Mac-istas have the front door here seriously secured. And they've posted an alert on that portal making it clear to anyone who even thinks about sliding past the steadfast security guard that some sort of "shoe protection" is required.
As if that's not enough, passers-by be warned: When that sober sentinel opens the big front door a burst of blinding white light pours forth. That Apple glow should make folks living across the street really happy when this place finally drops the curtain. In the meantime, Apple admirers will have to be satisfied with a little video excursion over Broadway. Some call this aerial vista a "fly-over." But it's really more of a plastered pigeon's eye view of the magic in the box that's soon to take over the Upper West Side.
