Model memoirist Léon Bing has a new book out, and Cathy Horyn says Swans and Pistols is more than just another dishy model tell-all. "The book, like Ms. Bing's life, presents a deep — and at times deeply troubling — fascination with danger," she says. "Wearing swanky clothes is really the least of it." But they do have a bit of a personal history: Horyn set out to interview the model and was suddenly struck ill and spent the rest of the evening vomiting in her subject's bathroom. After that, you pretty much can't say anything bad about a person. [NYT]
