The same day that it was announced that one could shop Christian Siriano's second collection for Payless online, we spotted them in the window of the Sixth Avenue Chelsea store.
Curious if zipper pulls on our toes would look fantabulous or horrendous, we headed in and slipped on some of the pieces, which weren't available in abundance, but we did find each style in most sizes.
And the verdict is: not as great as his last collection, which wasn't that desirable in the first place. With these, we see basic flats made slightly pointier, with that zipper decoration and Siriano's name on a gold innersole; not that impressive and yet $30.
Moving on to the $50 patent black, open-toe ankle boot, which sounds great in theory, we found the look of the patent (which is not real leather, of course) to be cheap. Don't even get us started on the matching purses. The fit of the shoes, however, was pretty spot-on.
We really wanted to like it, Christian, but we've been far too spoiled by seeing your ferocious runway heels in person. How about making those work?
