Serena Bancroft is a tween socialite who is not, despite all appearances, a creation of Cecily von Ziegesar or the Fox Network. This weekend, Tinsley Mortimer hosted a party for Serena and her friends at the Samantha Thavasa store on the Upper East Side. We quote: "In between Vogueing and cupcakes, the girls were given the opportunity to see samples of the Spring collection of handbags by Tinsley Mortimer exclusively for Samantha Thavasa. The girls were all atwitter about the 80s studs and bows of the new bags and could be heard debating just which they were going to buy when they finally arrived in the store next March." Which is exactly how their peers in the rest of the country feel about fake hamsters. [Guest of a Guest; NYT]
