Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Chanel is starting a magazine, and it will predictably be called "31 Rue Cambon"?hey, at least it's better than "Quilted." Since Karl Lagerfeld is a notorious consumer of media and art, you'd think that he would have long ago instead of now, with other print publications dying around him. Or maybe that's the trick? Start a magazine now when any new ink will garner headlines; well, he got us to talk about it at least.
31 Rue Cambon was recently leaked the blog of Olivier Zahm, head of Purple Fashion Magazine and partner-in-print for 31. The mag, which looks more like an elaborate catalog, won't be sold on newstands but available only at Chanel stores around the world. Don't run there quite yet though; there's no official release date.
