This is Store Sidekicks, an end-of-the-week feature where we profile the fuzzy wuzzy creatures that inhabit shops across the city. If you'd like to nominate your favorite store animal, drop us a line at tips@racked.com.

On Orchard Street just before Rivington on the Lower East Side lies an adorable boutique named Suite Orchard with an even more adorable French Bulldog mascot named Louis Bastian. Two-year-old Louis matches the store nicely; his warm caramel coat complements the gray and pink stripes painted on the wall, and he's as welcoming as the owners, sisters Sonia and Cindy Huang.

Customers who come by for the store's collection of designers like Alexander Wang, Corpus and Rag & Bone often wind up befriending Louis; if he's not around, they'll request his presence. Louis is very much a people a person and especially loves babies and kids. Often, if he sees a stroller he'll try to jump in. He also knows what songs he likes and doesn't like—if the music on the stereo is not to his taste, he'll run to the speaker and bark violently until Sonia or Cindy change the song. That's how hip Suite Orchard is: Even the dog is a music snob.—Lauren Frankfort
