Pop Ups: Jenni Kayne Decides To Sleepover In Soho

One of the events that kicked off this last Fashion Week for us was Jenni Kayne's austere presentation in an empty retail space on Mercer Street in Soho. She must have had an extremely positive reaction to the collection, for the 27-year old designer who originally got her start showing at Los Angeles Fashion Week has set up a temporary shop in the space.

We actually only stumbled the space recently, although it opened after Fashion Week on September 20 and will last through November 30. It occupies a cozy spot next to the Julie Haus pop-up, which also held her Fashion Week presentation. Is Mercer Street the hot new fashion-show-to-pop-up destination these days? It appears so, what with landlords eager to fill vacant retail spots, if only for a few months.
