While YSL continues to draw sharp-elbowed bag-hoarders, Brooks Brothers is quietly offering deals to a gentler audience at the Black Fleece sale in midtown. Sample Sally stopped by early this morning and found some truly impressive bargains in the sample section in the back, including rain coats, winter coats, and blazers for $99 and cashmere sweaters for $49. Non-samples include dresses for $199 (down from $1000) and outerwear for $399 to $499. Of course, it's hard to get too excited about a Fair Isle sweater, even if it is cashmere and costs less than $50, but if you're a small size and you need some fall basics, it sounds like the sale is worth a visit.
