Huge news, online shoppers: DailyCandy is creating its own version of Gilt Groupe. The members-only site, called Swirl (good name, no?), will carry designer clothing and accessories for up to 80% off. Lately, the market for online sales has gotten increasingly crowded, not to mentioning increasingly hot—Rue La La just sold for $350 million. DailyCandy aims to keep Swirl separate from the fray by selling only items that have been picked by DailyCandy editors, meaning the merchandise ought to be less random than what you find on sites like Gilt. Swirl soft-launches November 16th and officially kicks off this January. There's not much there right now, but if you click over, you can sign up early.
