Duane Reade is stepping up its cosmetics department by adding several higher-end lines and luxury items. The drugstore chain just opened a new 14,000-square-foot bi-level store in Herald Square, near Macy's and Sephora, and is taking on its new neighbors with its new Look Boutique, which stocks Too Faced, Bumble & Bumble, and Pop Beauty, among others. There are also makeover chairs and brow-shaping services, though we think we'll sit the eyebrow-sculpting out, at least until a friend does it first. (Those things always take longer to grow back than you'd expect.) The Duane Reade by Rockefeller Center is getting its own makeover now, and when it's ready in December it will have a Look Boutique of its own.
