Yesterday's Balmain show has Cathy Horyn thinking of branching out. She left the show inspired to sit up all night in her hotel room cutting holes in her shirts with nail scissors, saying: "[Christophe Decarnin] makes some of the most expensive clothes in Paris, treats them like dirt, and everybody gets ideas. What a racket." But if she thinks Balmain's sexier-than-last-season formula is "tacky and obvious," she certainly seemed enamored of the "charming sportswear in the French tradition" that Marco Zanini did over at Rochas.
