The man did a documentary ("Unzipped") in 1995, a talk show from 2001-2003, a line for Target for years, and just now has Isaac Mizrahi claimed a little slice of Upper East Side retail space for himself. His first store, which has just barely unlocked its doors at 23 East 67th Street, may be very small and off of the Madison Avenue strip, but it's got some impressive neighbors in Marni and the upcoming Creed perfume boutique.
Mizrahi's flagship was originally projected to open in August, but better late than never. Congratulations to Isaac, whose has had some serious ups and downs in his career, but has just jumped through the worst hurdle: Manhattan retail real estate.
