Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
The elevator inside the Prada sale only fits ten people at a time, so the going is slow over on 51st Street (and 11th Avenue, and 52nd Street, and 12th Avenue—the line wraps all the way around the block.) On our way out, we snapped some final photos of wet shoppers waiting for their fix. If you go now, expect to stand outside for at least an hour, and definitely don't forget your umbrella.
