Today's dismal weather could not keep the shoppers away from the Wink NYC warehouse sale on the Upper West Side, which is offering up to 80% off clothing, footwear and accessories. The sale is located in the back third of the small boutique, so be prepared to navigate through shoppers intently searching through the racks and bins. Don't miss the table of jeans from hot labels like Hudson, Earnest Sewn and Current/Elliott, all marked down to $60. There are also various bins on the floor containing separates ranging from $10 up to a very reasonable $50 for tops and sweaters. While a good amount of summer items are mixed in, shoppers can find great layering pieces, like long-sleeved turtlenecks by LA Made for $15 and a smattering of chunky sweater vests and sweaters for $30. Since the bins are organized by price, you will have to hunt for your size, though.
Steeply discounted prices for most items on the racks of dressier items are designated by the colorful sticker system (i.e., purple is $50, green is $75, see full color chart in pics). Fun and flirty dresses from lines like LaRok, Prairie and Yumi Kim range start around $75 and up (note: Yumi Kim is having its own sale on Spring and Summer items at her flagship, so you might find a larger discount on her pieces there). Separates from lines like Twinkle from Wenlan, Kain and Dorothy Lee were also mixed into the racks starting around $50 and up. Wink is also jumping on the romper-markdown train, offering their own (very cute, if it's your thing) ruffle front halter romper in black and pink for $50 down from $148.
Shoes from designers like Fornarina, Sam Edelman, Frye, Seychelles are 75% off. For example, a pair of grey patent Sam Edleman stiletto pumps is $29.75 (75% off of $119). As for the bags, forget about the Foley & Corinna and Hayden-Harnett—those were snatched up at the start of the sale and the rest of the handbags are all but gone. However, clutches by Lauren Merkin are still plentiful at $75 marked down from $198. This is also a great time to stock up fun and colorful bracelets and earrings as jewelry is 75% off.
A few words of advice: There are only two dressing rooms and staffers will keep a box with your name on it for you to keep your items to try on. Judging from the number of items in each box when we were there, the wait will be loooong. We were told that all regular priced items in the store are 10% off. However, the Wink website offers regular priced items at 15% off, so when we asked the somewhat confused sales staff about this, the manager did relent and say that if you mention the Wink online sale, they will honor 15% off regular priced items.
