Betsey Johnson wants to do a collaboration, and last night she told The Cut that it looks like it might be happening. "A couple of people are romancing," she said. She also wants to join Naeem Khan and Badgley Mischka in selling merchandise on TV. Those two are working with HSN, but Betsey says she prefers QVC, because her lingerie company and Stan Herman from the CFDA have both worked with them. Also, her dentist is a big fan of the network.
TV sales would be a relatively high-tech venture for Betsey, who says she doesn't use the Internet and has "the kids at work" do all the logging-on and emailing for her. She also has an assistant, Theresa the Twitterer, who Tweets on her behalf. We can definitely believe that. One of us is a former intern who magically got the cable working in Betsey's apartment one day and was told that no matter what happened we must not turn the TV off, because it would never work again after we left.
