British erotica shop Coco de Mer plans to open at 236 Elizabeth Street in Nolita. Kinkier than Kiki de Montparnasse but less crunchy than Babeland, Coco has been selling lingerie and other, more battery-operated marital aids for the past eight years, and they appear to take the job very seriously: Their website (NSFW, obvs) promises a special "Coco Club" section for people to "talk politics, discuss sex and laugh at ourselves." New Yorkers can join in the sexy, sexy political debates this December—according to Crain's, the boutique should be open before the holidays.
