In the Window: Bergdorf's Chanel is Bigger Than Yours

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

We know that carrying a huge bag is supposed to make you look smaller by comparison, but this is just ridiculous. Bergdorf Goodman is accessorizing their Chanel with enormous sculptures of the line's signature jackets, bags, jewelry, and perfume bottles. The extra-jumbo accessories are giving the clothes a distinct Borrowers vibe, and we'd be lying if we said we didn't want to climb around on them. While investigating that possibility, we managed to capture footage of the elusive Bergdorf window dressers in their natural habitat. Look closely at the above photos, and you'll see a couple of the people who make Bergdorf's window displays happen.
