Blogger Madison Avenue Spy scouted out the Bottega Veneta sample sale at 697 Fifth Avenue in Midtown yesterday morning. Her advice: Go early, and don't expect to leave with a bag. "Exotic skin bags are just 10% off original prices," she reports. "Leather bags are just $200 but there were none to be found by the afternoon." Shirts, skirts and pants, on the other hand, are only $40, dresses $80, and shoes $50. Larger sizes will have more luck, especially in the men's section. [Madison Avenue Spy]
