RackedWire: Housing Works Party at Cynthia Rowley; Recycled Jewelry on the LES

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

THE WEST VILLAGE—Housing Works and the fashion world sure have been spending a lot of time together lately. You might even say they were an item, if you were forcing a terrible Valentine's Day pun. Anyway, this upcoming Monday, February 2, Cynthia Rowley's Bleecker Street boutique will host the latest in a string of fashiony benefits for the non-profit. At the event, non-members can sign up to join Housing Works at varying levels of commitment and perks, while current members can shop Cynthia Rowley's designs at a discount (10% off sale merch, which is already reduced by 30% to 70%, plus 20% off everything else.) The event, at 376 Bleecker Street, runs from 7 pm to 9 pm. [Racked Inbox]

LOWER EAST SIDE—Boutique Kaight is stepping up its trunk shows starting next Saturday, when they'll host jewelry designer Susan Domelsmith's line Dirty Librarian. Domelsmith makes necklaces, earrings, and rings out of vintage chains—bring your own chain and she'll make you a ring on the spot. The show runs from 1pm to 6pm on Saturday, February 7, at 83 Orchard Street between Broome and Grand. [Racked Inbox]
