West Village: It's unclear if the delays at the standalone store for Black Fleece, the collaboration between Brooks Brothers and short-pants-loving designer Thom Browne, are due to bad juju from former tenant Nusraty Afghan Imports, Inc. or just construction issues. But a neighborhood tipster relays the glad news that the boutique looks like it will open any day now. "I live just down the street from their (incredibly delayed) new store & saw actual people inside, & nothing covering the windows anymore. The inside is almost complete, classy chandelier, mannequins ready to be suited up?Looks to be a great addition to the neighborhood." We wonder if your neighbors share that enthusiasm.
