Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
MIDTOWN—The tipster who sent in the photo above writes: "There is a massive line at Saks right now. Wraps across the front of building on 5th to near corner of 50th and Madison." That would be the lawsuit makeup train, still chugging along. As you'll recall, until stores run out, anyone who bought any beauty products over the past few years is entitled to one free item, thanks to a California class-action suit. [Racked Inbox]
EAST VILLAGE—While hundreds stand in line for free makeup, the nearly-departed Mondo Kim's on St. Mark's Place is pretty much deserted. Head over to the Furnace for some very depressing photos. [The Furnace]
