Wealthy local loon John Catsimatidis is at it again. The Gristedes CEO, recently thwarted in his attempt to knock off uber-successful grocery chain Trader Joe's with a store called "Trader John's" on 14th Street and Fifth Avenue, is now calling his new location Grocer John's. An ad for the store appeared in today's New York Post. It's his "new concept in supermarketing"! He is promising "a large selection of gourmet foods", "the best produce in town", and "recession fighting LOWER prices throughout the store." You can slap a new name on it, but it's still a Gristedes, John.
