West Broadway just can't catch a break these days. It's never exactly been a draw for the shopping hordes of tourists, and Té Casan's closure leaves a massive space dark. Joining the list of "for lease" signs will be the glass expanse of Satellite, a Parisian jewelry shop specializing in hand-made costume pieces.
Since the Soho location is their only presence in the United States, expect the discount to go further than the current 50% off everything. Men looking for Valentine's Day gifts for jewelry-loving women (who don't mind that that's not all diamonds and rubies) would be wise to stop in now while the getting is still good.
In related news: the Cardboard Design boutique next door seems to be flourishing. The economy giveth, the economy taketh away.
