Miss this summer's orgy of line-standing outside the Apple store? You're in luck: Apple chose this weekend to start letting people buy their iPhones at home. Given the timing, we assume they're trying not to get lost in the flood of stories about the new Google cell phone, which was unveiled today. Shoppers "enter their billing information and pre-qualify for iPhone's subsidized pricing from their home computer, and then make an appointment to pick up their new handset at a local Apple retail store."
