The duo behind young label Rag & Bone, designers Marcus Wainwright and David Neville, have opened their first NYC boutique. Located off the beaten shopping stretch on Christopher Street, the 1,600-square-foot shop is stocked with the brand's well-tailored sportswear for men and women. The interior, decorated with vintage knickknacks, is understated, with pressed tin ceilings, exposed brick walls, wood floors. As to why they choose tawdry Christopher Street instead of boutique-filled Bleecker Street: "'We liked the idea of being in a residential neighborhood,' explains Wainwright. 'This is a famously gay street,' adds Neville, 'with a lot of overtly aggressive shops. There’s no retail here, and, given the proximity to Bleecker, which does [have a lot of stores], we thought it’d be fun.'”
