While stores like Original Penguin and Kinokuniya rake in the dough during Fashion Week thanks their proximity to the tents, it looks like not all the businesses around Bryant Park are making bank.
While grabbing a quick lunch at Le Pain Quotidien after DKNY on Sunday, we happened past this generic-looking little boutique and their sad going-out-of-business notice. After 14 years (that's 28 Fashion Weeks!) at 36 West 40th Street, Silhouettes will be closing later this month. Since it's next to the Bryant Park Hotel and so central for midtown lunchers, this is definitely some hot retail property. We'll keep our eyes peeled, but odds are it'll become a Starbucks anyways.
