For a brief second after Sunday's Y-3 show in Chelsea, we spotted NYT Sunday Styles photographer Bill Cunningham attempting to capture the scenesters pouring out of the show. While our moment with him was fleeting, Bergdorf Goodman has dedicated their Fashion Week windows to his decades of trendsetting work.
With the windows and a third floor exhibition on view through September 16, Bill is getting the retail royal treatment, and it's no wonder since he is New York's original Sartorialist. We just have one issue with it: Bill Cunningham is not dead, and the eerie cut-outs of him and quotes in the Bergdorf windows feel like an ode to a long gone legend. Party on, (alive) Bill, but watch out for those idolizing FIT students.
