The Trader Joe's at Atlantic and Court Streets in Brooklyn continues to accept job applications on premises, giving a curious person a perfectly legitimate excuse to enter the old Independence Bank Building. As seen above, the interior is coming along, with all sorts of shelving, partitions and what one imagines are future refrigeration units in place. (Quite the change from the barren days of May, eh?) A chipper, friendly "captain" named Greg was handing out application forms on the second floor. He said the store planned to open in late September (rumor has the 28th as the date), with job training beginning a few weeks before that. Looks like it's really happening, folks. —Lost City
