It's the final day of the Intermix Warehouse Sale on West 19th Street and while others vainly hunt for any leftover $99 Fendi, the sensible shoppers are getting back to basics with denim and loungewear.
In the line to check out (now whittled down to 5 minutes' wait), women stand heaped with discounted True Religion and 7 for All Mankind, averaging pairs of $50 down from $275. Aside from the still-plentiful Michael Kors, M Missoni and Stella McCartney in shoes and clothing, all other options are looking a bit west coast. By this we mean lots of sequins, Rachel Zoe-ish tunics with bright patterns and overall unnecessary ornamentation.
Looking at the price list above, you might ask yourself: "Why are the Kors and DvF shoes only $29?!" Well, this sale has quite a bit of overstock on both and in what are truly the least appealing of styles. A reprieve arrived when we spotted some hardcore patent gladiators from Alejandro Ingelmo for $99, down from $895. Take that, Barneys Warehouse Sale!
The sale at 110 West 19th Street ends today at 8pm, just in time to scoop up last minute showpieces for your Labor Day getaway (or faking it by going to Water Taxi Beach).
