According to Brooklyn borough president Marty Markowitz's spokesperson Mark Zustovich, Red Hook will soon be home to a massive BJ's Wholesale Club. For the unfamiliar, BJ's is a chain of membership-only wholesale shops that sell all sorts of things—foodstuffs, electronics, apparel and office supplies. The store will supposedly go in right next door to the Ikea on the Revere Sugar Factory site (which Ikea is using now as overflow parking). A spokesperson for developer Thor Equities says that nothing is final, but according to the Brooklyn Paper, the move seems likely. First The Real World, now this?
