OVER THE EAST RIVER—Brooklyn is preempting Fashion Week with its own week-long celebration of local designers, and the runway show introducing the event sounds amazing. "The official kick-off for Fashion Indie Week Brooklyn will bow with a record-setting fashion show to transpire on the Brooklyn Bridge on September 2 at 6 p.m. Featured designers include Brooklyn Royalty, Love Brigade, Zulema Griffin, Mandate of Heaven, New York Couture and San & Soni." On the bridge, people. We are so excited to see this. [Fashion Week Daily]
SOHO—Kiki de Montparnasse continues to fill the gap between Agent Provocateur and Babes in Toyland with a couples-only event tomorrow night called The Art of the Tease at their store at 79 Greene Street. The invitation sternly commands readers to "explore role play and enjoy titillating possibilities for the romantic wardrobe" before promising champagne and aphrodisiacs (though it doesn't say which ones—chocolate? oysters? Spanish Fly?) There will also be a lap-dancing lesson and a celebration of "partner play," which we take to mean "people making out in the store." It's $150 to attend. [Kiki de Montparnasse]
