[Rudy's Silver Lake via If It's Hip, It's Here]
As trendy men become increasingly preppified, its not too surprising that the market for male salons is expanding. New York City's recently seen the openings of a few hip barbershops—consider Freemans' new West Village outpost, The Shave New York in Nolita and Spiff in Midtown. And joining the primping frenzy soon will be West Coast chain Rudy's Barbershop, opening in 2009 in the Ace Hotel on 29th Street and Broadway (an area that's overdue for a dose of coolness). The focus of the salon is on quality, affordable haircuts; they also sell products like Comme des Garcons wallets, Dean accessories and Bumble and Bumble and Malin+Goetz products.
