LA Fashion Week on the Rocks?

Via our West Coast associates, we hear that LA Fashion Week might be in trouble. Apparently IMG, the company that runs Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in NYC and LA, is having issues with Cali venue host Smashbox Studios, and the fear is that IMG will end the partnership leaving LA in the lurch.

Racked LA isn't too despondent at the possibility of change: "The truth is the application of the NY Fashion Week structure on LA has never quite worked." But what of the many celebrity-"designed" clothing lines—they need their moment in the sun! NYC won't tolerate a Lauren Conrad runway show. We hope.
