Some people drink away their sorrows; we prefer shopping to keep them at bay. So we're excited to check out J.Crew's first men's shop, opening tomorrow in the former Liquor Store Bar space at 235 West Broadway in Tribeca. With the help of Andy Spade and his longtime friend Anthony Sperduti, J.Crew senior vp of men's design Todd Snyder tried to keep the nightspot feel of the 925-square-foot space intact, holding on to the original bar, hanging vintage photographs on the dark wood walls and filling shelves with decanters and whiskey bottles. Aside from a selection of "J.Crew favorites" from the brand's menswear collection, the shop will sell limited edition merchandise including Thomas Mason shirting, glasses from Selima, Aesop skincare, Borsalino hats and Alden shoes.
