This past spring, after being pushed off the block of 14th Street between Avenues A and B by rising rents, 41-year-old neighborhood shop Yes! This Is Charlie's found a new spot on Avenue C. Given the luxification of Stuyvesant Town and the arrival of the A Building, it seems this stretch of 14th is about to give up the ghost and go high-end.
With that in mind, we're not really sure how to interpret the animal hospital that recently arrived in Charlie's old space. Is a veterinary clinic old-school or new-school? Of course, StuyTown did recently go to the dogs. —Jeremiah Moss
