From today on through August 17, the cavernous Powerhouse Books headquarters in Dumbo is taking an extra 50% off the sale prices of their crazy large selection of eclectic books.
Powerhouse, otherwise known as the home of the quirky coffee table book, has some seriously primo titles on offer, such as Inside: The Chelsea Hotel, A.L.T. 365+: Andre Leon Talley, and the essential photography tome Men Before 10am.
While you’re down in Dumbo digging through stacks of Maripolarama, perhaps you’d like to stop by their current exhibition on the little person toreadors that rule Mexican bullfighting. The photographer, Livia Corona, spent almost a decade living amongst them and has compiled an enlightening photo essay of their families and lives. The show, "Enanitos Toreros", will be free to see in the Powerhouse Arena until August 6.
