Above The Fray: All's Quiet at James Kendi, Mary Ping and Daphne and Vera Correll

At the James Kendi, Mary Ping, Daphne and Vera Correll sale on Henry Street (ending tonight at 8pm), there are no price guides, sheets posted or even an indication of the special event occurring. What you will find is a small, warm, room filled with discounted clothing and accessories. The sale wasn't at all crowded yesterday; we spotted a few people lined up to use the minuscule changing room provided while a handful of others browsed the few racks of clothes. Prices were reasonable: James Kendi ties were going for $30 to $50 and shirts for $60 to $100, Miriam Payne pieces were priced from $90 to $300 and Daphne and Vera Correll merch was selling for $50 to $100. Since the atmosphere inside was far from frantic—it felt like a trip to a boutique rather than a sample sale—this is a safe bet for some leisurely lunchtime browsing today.
