With the release of The Dark Knight, the latest Batman movie, only two days away, Style File is asking the important questions. Such as, what does the Joker's choice of lipstick mean? Makeup expert Poppy King compares Jack Nicholson's 1989 mouth to the late Heath Ledger's look in the new version. "Nicholson is the power woman's Joker," she explains. "He way overdoes the lip liner—very eighties." Whereas "Heath is the post-post-feminist's Joker. He is so deconstructionist with his red lipstick, it almost comes right back around to the Renaissance!" [Style File]
