Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Well, the Hudson Square retail scene, that is. Though workers are still putting some finishing touches on the black-locked designer's airy boutique at 250 Hudson Street, the impressive shop is very much open for business today. The space seems much larger than its square footage thanks to soaring ceilings, oversize mirrors and floor-to-ceiling drapes. Long racks are hung with Owens' sculptural jackets, dresses, skirts and tops in shades of black, white and gray for men and women; a low table by the door holds boots and leather high-tops. Though they're still putting the price stickers on everything, the incredibly accommodating staffers will gladly look up the cost of any item for you.
