Did you know that Shoemania, the Union Square footwear juggernaut, keeps a running tally on its website of what it claims are "The Top 10 Selling Shoes in New York City Right Now"? If it's accurate, the list is pretty disheartening: lots of ugly-but-expensive comfort footwear from brands like Mephisto and Teva, with one pair of yellow satin Ed Hardy Converse thrown in.
