Here's a funny idea: send a hetero male to beauty and fragrance events typically dominated by female fashion mag types, and have him blog about it. That's what The Moment is employing Josh Stein for. A snippet of his report on an Axe event for the launch of some sort of shower tool called the Detailer: "Next to the Detailer were displayed bottles of Axe shower gel—in Snake Peel, Touch and Skin Contact scents. They had finger indentations and rubber nubs. 'They’re so easy to grab. Like, you can just GRAB them,' a rep from Axe’s PR team told me. I wondered from what template of a man Axe’s designers draw from. Is it the spastic rendering of a toddler who hasn’t yet mastered the art of fingers and draws circular clumps for hands? We do have, I was tempted to remind her, opposable thumbs." [The Moment]
