Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
Finally, finally, there will be a decent place to get a slurpee in Tribeca. 7-Eleven, the "largest chain in the convenience retailing industry," has set its sights south of Canal. Reports a reader, "There's a 7-11 opening on the corner of Church and Warren in Tribeca." And indeed, as the gallery above evidences, the pink, orange and green store is almost ready for its time in the spotlight. Since there are only a handful of 7-Elevens in the city, this is a big deal. Can we expect an opening party?
