DWR Tools Around in Soho

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Furniture and housewares company Design Within Reach has found a new use for their Soho showroom at 142 Wooster Street. Racked LA reports that DWR will be opening a store dedicated to its 'Tools for Living' line (desk sets, travel items, cookware, etc) in the Wooster space. The revamp will take place in September.

Also changing will be the purchase protocol—instead of browsing, paying and then having items delivered, the new Tools for Living store will be cash and carry. That's not to say that the showroom is closing, though: as Apartment Therapy reported a few weeks back, the company is moving it to a larger space on Greene Street. Double the DWR, double the fun?
