Racked LA: BAPE Draws a Crowd and More!

Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.

Taking a page from our friends over at Curbed, let us now take a very visual look at the latest retail and shopping news as revealed on our West Coast site, Racked LA, this week.

1) Melrose Heights: Dedicated BAPE devotees have been camping out in front of the brand's new store for days; it just opened at noon PST. Colorful hoodies and loud sneakers seem to be the uniform of choice for line waiters.

2) West 3rd Street: Though all signs point to creepy sex shop, newcomer Romp is some sort of organic clothing boutique. Nice decor.

3) Silver Lake: Here's a peek at soon-to-open store LaMill which, if rumors prove true, will be some sort of high-design coffee tasting center. Groovy.
