Fresh from the inbox, here's a rendering of what the empty retail space in the spectacular lobby of One Hanson Place near BAM might look like if/when it is leased. There is news that the space has a new broker: none other than Faith Hope Consolo, the press-friendly chair of the retail leasing and sales division for Prudential Douglas Elliman. A long ago rumor had Borders taking the 33,000-square-foot lobby, but it was not to be. Consolo says "I visualize a big specialty store" or "a very important catering group" or "another great restaurant." Rent is said to be in the $3 million a year range, plus or minus. Other possibilities as tenants Consolo mentioned are a museum auction house and retailers like Sony and (of course) Apple.
