The colorful, patterned Marimekko tribute collection finally hit H&M today, a day later than promised. Not that we're unhappy about our fruitless trek over to the store yesterday or anything. The line is not for the faint of heart: as anyone who's familiar with the Finnish company knows, saturated colors and serious prints are the norm for a Marimekko piece. H&M's going full-force with this debut, giving shoppers plenty to choose from. For women, there's beach wear, bathing suits, jewelry, hats, bags, shorts, skirts, tops and a lot of long dresses; for men, bright shorts and long and short-sleeved shirts. The price point is relatively low—everything we picked up was under $100. Though salespeople cautioned that the line would fly off of shelves, the scene at two H&Ms on Broadway in Soho this morning was pretty darn quiet. Cavalli, it ain't.
