Incredible but true: the old CBGB's space is still in the process of being dismantled. Menswear designer John Varvatos confirmed his takeover of the legendary punk rock club back in November, but it will be some time before his herringbone vests and cashmere crew sweaters hit the shelves in there. Basically, the place looks like a war zone. After a period of inactivity, workers are now on the scene wearing facemasks to combat a thick fog of dust while removing the decrepit interiors, and garbage trucks appear to be parked permanently outside. Everyday dumpsters overflow with remains and more and more of CBGB's is stripped away. All hail the new sanitized Bowery!
