Racked is no longer publishing. Thank you to everyone who read our work over the years. The archives will remain available here; for new stories, head over to Vox.com, where our staff is covering consumer culture for The Goods by Vox. You can also see what we’re up to by signing up here.
It turns out that the empty storefront at 313 Bowery, formerly CBGB's Gallery, will not be turned into something completely soul-crushing (thank god). Instead of a Duane Reade or a bank chain, another gallery is moving in. From new tenant the Morrison Hotel Gallery: "This historic location will be preserved by providing some of the best in visual music art curated by the staff of our gallery and created by the talented photographers and artists we are presenting."
