While passing through Soho yesterday, Racked was quite excited to see Moonbags in the window of vintage store Chelsea Girl Couture at 186 Spring Street in Soho. If you're not familiar with the accessories, let us explain: Moonbags are clutches (with shoulder straps tucked conveniently inside) that were designed and handpainted by artist Patricia Smith in 1980s. Each bag has a one-of-a-kind exotic painting on its outside panel. Chelsea Girl Couture has been accumulating the bags for some time; they go for two to three hundred dollars apiece. Pricey, yes, but you could shell out the same at Kate Spade or Coach for a style carried by countless other females. At least these bags are unique.
