The former home of PIR
The rough retail climes of Nolita have killed another boutique. The latest victim is Canadian retailer PIR Cosmetics, who has packed up and left its home at the corner of Prince and Elizabeth Streets. The shop carried many hard-to-find haircare, skincare and men's shaving brands and also sold random accessories, but it was their makeup lines, including Kevyn Aucoin and Paula Dorf, that really stood out. PIR's website is still up and running, but there's no word yet on whether the company is simply relocating or closing their American retail presence entirely. Looks like competition from M.A.C. and Sephora hits hard.
